Today the Chief was notified by Senators Menendez and Booker that we have been awarded another grant for $57,068.00. This grant will be used to purchase 2 new thermal imaging cameras to replace the 24 year old ones that we are currently using. We are please to report one of our own has been hired by the Department of the Army as a career firefighter. Michael Forlines will be starting the 3rd at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin as an entry level firefighter. We are saddened to lose Mike as he has always been a big part of the company, he has held numerous positions besides taking care of his family and working. Right after the festival, Jottan Roofing delivered all the roofing material and started the new roof. All old roofing material was torn off, 15 rotted rafters were replaced over the ambulance bay, the fascia was replaced along route 532 side. Prior to the roof work, members demolished the 2 old chimneys that will no longer be used.
On Friday Senator Menendez notified Chief Shawn Viscardi that the SAFER Grant was awarded to the fire company for recruitment and retention in the amount of $545,030.00. This grant will be used to give the volunteers a stipend for calls, duty crews, and in the next couple of months the company will have day time duty crews in the station Monday through Friday from the hours of 08:00-18:00 to better serve the community. Early on the morning of June 12th, NJ State Forest Fire crews were alerted to a report of brush fires in the area of Savoy Blvd & Butler Place. B3 along with several other state trucks located the fire and started firing operations and suppression activities. At the time of the fire the wind was keeping the fire away from any homes, 2900 was notified and activated a wildland urban interface (WUI) assignment as a precaution, a joint command post was set up at the Whitehor...
During the weekend we received almost 2 feet of snow, emergency crews were stationed in the Lebanon Station and out of the Whitehorse Inn, Emergency Management had the Inn staffed for over 48 hours. Fortunately we had no major emergencies throughout Woodland during the storm, emergency crews responded to other communities for assistance on several calls. Elton and Freddie did their best to keep up with the storm and work some long hours, the county finally came through 563/532.

At 19:00 crews from 2981 & 2912 attended the County Firefighters Memorial service for all Burlington County firefighters who gave their lives in the service of their communities.
On Sunday 2981 stood by at the Hedger House for the Bob Wilson Benefit, the turnout was excellent and a great job goes out to everyone involved with putting the event together!!
In 2012 the members started cleaning up both firehouse exteriors,the Chatsworth Station 1 exterior was power-washed and repainted, the parking lot was repaved, the underground fuel storage tanks at both stations were removed, the leech field system at Lebanon was replaced and the one at station 1 was repaired, and the 2 storage trailers at the Lebanon Station 2 were also removed as was the old inoperable siren from the roof.
